Research indicates that online counselling sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions. At Avid Therapy, we strongly believe that providing support in a person's own environment not only yields positive results but also enhances accessibility for individuals who may face challenges reaching a therapist's office.

No, unfortunately, counselling — unlike psychology — is not eligible for Medicare claims. If you require clarification on payment options or further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're committed to aiding you and offering clarity regarding our services and payment procedures.
Can I pay for my session using my National disability insurance scheme (NDIS) plan?
Yes, you can pay for your session using your National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plan under certain conditions:
If you are self-managed or plan-managed, and you have funding allocated in the 'Capacity Building' category specifically for counselling, you can use your NDIS plan to pay for the session.
If you do not have allocated funding in the 'Capacity Building' category for counselling, you will only be able to use your NDIS plan to pay for the session if your plan is still under the old plan system and you have not been transferred to the PACE system.
However, if you are agency-managed or do not have funding allocated in the 'Capacity Building' category for counselling, then you are unable to use your NDIS plan to pay for the session.
If you have any questions about using your NDIS plan for payment or need further clarification on your funding options, please feel free to contact us.
We maintain consistent rates for NDIS clients and other clients alike, so please select the service that best suits your needs. Additional charges, at the same hourly rate as our counselling sessions, apply if you need reports, letters, or liaisons with other members of your support team.
Yes, we understand that financial hardships can impact access to counselling services. We are committed to working with you to find the best way to provide support and accommodate your needs. Please don't hesitate to inquire about our discounted rates so we can assist you effectively. Your well-being is important to us, and we're here to help.
